Founded with a vision to transform early childhood education, we set out to create a place where children can learn, explore, and grow in a natural environment. As a family-owned and operated centre, we understand the importance of creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging space where each child is valued as an individual.

Our journey started with a passion for providing children with an alternative to conventional, indoor-focused childcare. We saw the need for a sanctuary where children could reconnect with the joys of outdoor play, exploring the world around them while building a solid foundation for their educational journey. With over 20 years of combined experience in early childhood education, our founders have dedicated themselves to creating a holistic learning experience that emphasises nature, play, and community.

Our vision is to create a network of centres across Southeast Queensland where each child has the freedom to explore, learn, and grow in a natural, supportive environment. We aim to inspire a generation of children who are connected to nature, confident in their abilities, and prepared for the challenges of the future.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make a positive difference in children’s lives by providing a nurturing, play-based learning environment where children aged 6 weeks to 5 years thrive through outdoor experiences. We focus on the whole child—emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically—supported by passionate educators who embody our values of positivity, compassion, and professionalism. Committed to nature, sustainability, and lifelong learning, we aim to enrich the lives of children, families, and communities through trusted, high-quality early education.

With over 20 years of combined experience in early childhood education, our educators are passionate about fostering a love for learning in every child. They bring a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and compassion to the classroom, ensuring that each child receives personalised care and attention.

Andrew Riley

Co-Founder

Andrew’s desire to work with children started when he was 15 in high school in New Zealand but didn’t fulfil his dreams until later in life. He is a qualified early childhood educator and wouldn’t dream of doing anything else. He has a passion for outdoor education and play-based learning “I’m really proud to be a part of the Country Kids family and being involved in the most important years in a child’s development.

Carolin Riley

Co-Founder

Carolin has been an early childhood educator for over 20 years having worked in New Zealand, England, Germany and Australia. Her mother was an educator and she had the desire to work in the industry since primary school growing up in Germany. “I love working actively with the children and educators. Early childhood is constantly changing and you never stop investigating and learning together with the children.” Carolin is currently studying her Bachelor of Early Childhood.
