Starting January 2026, all eligible children will have access to three days of subsidised early learning each week, regardless of their parents’ work or study hours.
This new Government initiative, called the 3 Day Guarantee, gives every child the opportunity to enjoy more play, more learning, and more opportunities to grow, all while families save on childcare costs.
What Is the 3 Day Guarantee?
The 3 Day Guarantee is part of upcoming Child Care Subsidy (CCS) changes designed to make early learning more accessible for all Australian families.
Here’s what you can expect from 1 January 2026:
- Every CCS-eligible child will receive at least 3 days (36 hours) of subsidised early learning per week
- No minimum work or study activity hours required for those 3 days
- Up to 100 subsidised hours per fortnight for families who meet the activity test
- First Nations families will continue to receive 100 subsidised hours per fortnight
These changes mean more consistency for children, more flexibility for families, and a stronger foundation for lifelong learning.
